Inside the GTA6DATA Lab: Hardware, Capture Gear, and How We Verify GTA 6

Behind the Database

GTA6DATA is operated by Tomohiro, a Japan-based independent site owner,
researcher, hardware enthusiast, and long-time admirer of games that allow
perfectly reasonable adults to spend twenty minutes comparing fictional car grilles.

Articles are written and edited under the name Vice Doyle.
The name handles the sarcasm. The human handles the research, publishing decisions,
corrections, and expensive hardware purchases that were allegedly “necessary.”

The Human Behind the Site

Who Runs GTA6DATA?

GTA6DATA is not operated by a faceless content farm, an anonymous rumor mill,
or a committee trapped inside a search-engine optimization spreadsheet.

The site is independently operated by Tomohiro, with a focus on GTA 6,
Rockstar Games, vehicle culture, PC hardware, video production, game music,
and the technical side of documenting large games.

Vice Doyle is the site’s editorial identity: direct, skeptical, occasionally rude,
and generally unimpressed by headlines that describe unverified forum posts
as “massive GTA 6 leaks.”

Official facts come first. Analysis comes second. Speculation is labeled.
Opinion is allowed to have a personality.

The photographs on this page are the owner’s actual photos of the person and equipment described here.
They are published without beauty retouching, background replacement, or AI-generated reconstruction.
The point is documentation, not auditioning for a lifestyle brochure.

GTA6DATA Take

This is considerably more hardware than a GTA website technically requires.
Restraint was discussed. Restraint lost.

Additional Test Systems

The Rest of the GTA6DATA PC Lab

One oversized workstation would be simpler. It would also be less useful for comparison.
GTA6DATA keeps three additional PCs around for capture work, compatibility checks, media handling,
website work, and the useful question: “does this still behave the same on the other machine?”

Secondary PC 1

Ryzen 9 3900X / RTX 4070

Ryzen 9 3900X, 64GB DDR4, GeForce RTX 4070 12GB, and six storage devices. The hardware details were captured from the running system, because “trust me, it’s in there” is not a benchmark methodology.

Secondary PC 2

Core i5-14400F / RTX 2080

Core i5-14400F, 64GB DDR4, GeForce RTX 2080, Seasonic 850W power supply, and an Aerocool mid-tower case. This configuration is currently owner-reported rather than screenshot-verified on this page, so it stays labeled that way.

Secondary PC 3

Core i7-8700 / GTX 750 Ti

Core i7-8700, 32GB memory, and GeForce GTX 750 Ti. The machine itself is photographed below; the component list is owner-supplied. Old hardware is still hardware, and sometimes an older box tells you more than another flagship benchmark.

Console and Capture Setup

How GTA 6 Will Be Captured and Tested

Console

PlayStation 5 Pro

The primary launch platform planned for GTA 6 gameplay capture,
visual testing, performance observation, and long-form documentation.

PlayStation 5 Pro used by GTA6DATA for planned GTA 6 gameplay capture and testing
GTA6DATA’s PS5 Pro. When GTA 6 is publicly available, this is where the “we tested it ourselves” part is supposed to begin.
Capture Hardware

AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K 2.1 GC575

Used for high-quality gameplay capture and preserving footage
for detailed review rather than relying on compressed social media clips.

Capture Target

4K60 SDR

The planned standard for clean, consistent recording and practical editing.
HDR is useful, but it also has a habit of turning simple workflows into committee meetings.

Editing

DaVinci Resolve Studio 20

Used for footage review, frame comparison, visual documentation,
video production, and examining details that disappear during casual playback.

Research Methods

How GTA6DATA Verifies Information

Expensive equipment does not make a claim true. An RTX 5090 cannot transform
a Reddit theory into an official Rockstar announcement, despite what certain thumbnails imply.

GTA6DATA uses the following editorial process:

Step 1

Check Official Sources

Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, official support pages,
official storefronts, trailers, screenshots, and published documentation
are treated as primary sources.

Step 2

Review the Original Material

Whenever possible, GTA6DATA examines the original trailer, screenshot,
statement, or store listing instead of repeating somebody else’s summary of it.

Step 3

Separate Fact From Analysis

Confirmed information, visible observations, informed interpretation,
speculation, and opinion are not dumped into the same paragraph and left to fight.

Step 4

Add Original Value

New articles must provide original comparison, structured data,
historical context, direct examination, technical analysis,
or a distinct editorial perspective.

Step 5

Correct the Record

When official information changes or an error is found,
the relevant page is reviewed and corrected.
Pride is cheaper than publishing the wrong answer forever.

Step 6

Human Editorial Control

Software and AI tools may assist with research organization,
editing, site maintenance, or repetitive work.
Final publication decisions remain under human control.

Current Work

What the Lab Is Used for Before GTA 6 Launches

GTA 6 has not launched yet, so this page will not pretend that GTA6DATA
has already benchmarked a game sitting somewhere in Rockstar’s building.
That would be efficient, but also fictional.

Before release, the setup is used for:

  • Reviewing official trailers and screenshots at high resolution
  • Comparing vehicle designs, brands, locations, characters, and environmental details
  • Preserving official media and source material for future comparison
  • Producing structured tables, timelines, archives, and visual references
  • Editing screenshots and video material for GTA6DATA articles
  • Maintaining the website, internal research records, and long-term media storage
  • Comparing GTA 6 promotional material with earlier Rockstar games

Planned Testing

What GTA6DATA Will Test After Release

Once GTA 6 is publicly available, GTA6DATA plans to expand from promotional-material
analysis into direct testing and long-term documentation.

Performance

Frame Rate and Image Quality

Visual modes, performance modes, frame pacing, resolution behavior,
and differences introduced by major updates.

Vehicles

Driving and Traffic Systems

Vehicle behavior, damage, traffic density, class differences,
handling characteristics, and changes across patches.

World

NPCs and Environmental Systems

Crowd behavior, police reactions, regional differences,
wildlife, weather, and other systems that deserve more than a ten-second clip.

Archive

Update and Version Tracking

Footage and screenshots will be preserved so changes can be documented
instead of entrusted to collective internet memory. A dangerous storage medium.

Comparison

Trailer Versus Final Game

Locations, vehicles, lighting, characters, interface elements,
and scenes will be compared with their promotional versions.

Future PC Version

Console and PC Comparison

A PC version has not been officially confirmed at the time of writing.
When and if it arrives, GTA6DATA has suitable hardware waiting.
PC players, meanwhile, remain professionally patient.

Launch Verification Protocol

How GTA6DATA Will Turn Gameplay Into Verified Data

Once GTA 6 is publicly available, a single observation will not automatically become a universal claim.
GTA6DATA will record the conditions under which a result was observed, repeat tests where practical,
preserve evidence, and keep version-specific findings separate from timeless facts.

Field What GTA6DATA Will Record
Platform PS5 Pro first, plus any later platform used for comparison
Game version Displayed build or update version whenever available
Date and time When the test was performed, so later patches can be compared
Location Region, road, interior, water body, or other relevant in-game location
Test conditions Vehicle, weather, wanted level, character state, settings, route, and other variables that can change the result
Sample count How many times the behavior was tested when repetition is practical
Evidence Captured video, screenshots, timing records, comparison frames, and written notes
Claim state Verified in-game, official, inference, needs review, or superseded by a later version
Pass 1

Observe

Capture the behavior in ordinary play and record the exact conditions instead of relying on memory.

Pass 2

Repeat

Reproduce the result when practical. One unusual NPC reaction is evidence of one event, not proof of a universal AI rule.

Pass 3

Compare

Compare regions, vehicles, weather, settings, or patches when the claim depends on context.

Archive

Preserve the Evidence

Keep original capture files and notes so later updates can be checked against the earlier version instead of trusting recollection.

Publish

State the Boundary

Report what the test demonstrates, what it does not demonstrate, and whether the result is platform- or version-specific.

Recheck

Retest After Major Updates

Important system claims will be revisited after major patches when a change could invalidate earlier measurements.

Example: if one police response takes 42 seconds in one district, GTA6DATA will not write
“GTA 6 police always arrive in 42 seconds.” The useful record is the platform, build, location, wanted state,
test count, observed range, and whether the behavior survives repetition.

GTA6DATA Take

The goal is not to make every test look scientific. The goal is to make every claim traceable enough
that somebody can understand how we reached it and know when it needs to be tested again.

Why This Page Exists

Transparency Without the Corporate Fog

Readers should know who is responsible for a site, what tools are being used,
how conclusions are reached, and where the limits are.

This page does not prove that every GTA6DATA article is automatically correct.
It explains the working environment, research process, editorial responsibility,
and testing plans behind the site.

Trust should be earned through accurate work, visible corrections,
useful evidence, and consistency. The photos on this page show that the operator and hardware exist.
They do not magically make every conclusion correct. Conveniently, that still requires doing the work.

GTA6DATA Take

Hardware Is a Tool, Not a Personality

The Ryzen 9 9950X, RTX 5090, PS5 Pro, capture card, and storage archive
exist to produce better work. They do not make rumors official,
bad arguments intelligent, or YouTube thumbnails less embarrassing.

Accurate first, funny second, boring never.
